Valley Ranch in Irving TX

Valley Ranch is a 2,400-acre master-planned community located in the northernmost portion of the City of Irving, north of I-635. It features residential, commercial and retail land use in an environment of landscaped canals and pedestrian pathways for leisurely walks along the water. It is one of Irving’s stunning planned developments. The name comes from the fact that the land it is sited on was formerly a working ranch and is located below a large ridge, and thus resembles a valley. With the Trinity River to the east, Valley Ranch is known for its system of canals that are as beautiful as they are practical, helping to keep the homes in the floodplain free from flooding. The area lies in the Trinity River floodplain; however, an extensive levee system on its eastern side separates the river from land, thus making it desirable for development. In order to maintain flood control and to provide recreation facilities for residents,

The community is only minutes away from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and easily accessible by major roadways.

Valley Ranch was designed as a place to live, work and play. There are 4,000 single-family homes, 22 multi-family properties, and over 120 local businesses. It is governed by a unique structure with three boards of directors; residential, commercial and master boards. It has a strong and healthy homeowner’s association that is committed to providing a welcoming atmosphere for its residents, ensuring attractive and environmentally responsible aesthetics, and securing Valley Ranch’s vitality for future generations.

Valley Ranch formerly hosted the practice facilities of the Dallas Cowboys football team, who moved to Frisco, Texas, in 2016, and the Dallas Stars hockey team, who have also since moved to Frisco.

Valley Ranch has plenty to discover, from simple outdoor escapes in lush parks to appetizing restaurants perfect for a date night or a night out with the whole family. Once a former cattle ranch, the setting of Valley Ranch is idyllic and fun to wander through. Come out and witness another part of the wonderful Irving community.

Parks and Recreation in Valley Ranch

Valley Ranch Irving has over five miles of winding, landscaped canal walkways and ponds, parks, and an aquatic center. Irving’s Cimarron Park is one example of a pleasant green space to spend some time on your own or with the kiddos. With its own indoor recreation center, equipped with a basketball court and full gymnasium, the park provides a great way to beat the summer heat. Multiple playground structures, swing sets, and a large field provide plenty of options for games. If you bring a picnic, take advantage of the covered picnic area complete with a barbecue pit. The park also boasts two tennis courts and two basketball courts. What more could you need?

Beyond the park, plan a long walk along the Valley Ranch canal trails and admire the well-maintained paths, waterways, and greenery. You can spend hours meandering about, all along safe sidewalks, popping into local shops and restaurants as you make your way through the development.

Las Colinas in Irving TX

Irving includes the Las Colinas community, one of the first master-planned developments in the United States.

Las Colinas is a 12,000-acre master-planned development located within the city of Irving. Founded in 1972 by Ben Carpenter, the area was known only 40 years ago as El Ranchito de Las Colinas, "the little ranch of the hills," and served as a weekend getaway for the Carpenter family. Today, Las Colinas is a model of visionary planning and the envy of cities and developers around the world.

Located only a short 15 minute drive to downtown Dallas, 15 minutes to North Dallas and 20 minutes to downtown Fort Worth, Las Colinas’ central location positions it as one of the most convenient areas to reach from anywhere in North Texas. And its proximity to two major airport hubs, immediately adjacent to DFW Airport and only ten minutes from Love Field, makes it easily accessible from both coasts and within a three and a half hour flight from anywhere in the country. The recent completion of the Orange Line now provides a direct connection to Las Colinas with both downtown Dallas and DFW Airport and other points throughout the region.

With an urban center boasting more than 2,000 corporations and 400 corporate headquarters, including the global headquarters of multiple Fortune 500 and 100 companies, it is one of the country’s preeminent corporate addresses. In addition to blue chip corporate neighbors, Las Colinas is home to one of Texas’ top-rated resorts, the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, as well as the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout

A true live, work, play environment, there are 56 small lakes and water amenities throughout the development, jogging trails, public and private parks, museums, colleges, hospitals, country clubs, and cultural and recreational institutions. Northlake College, the University of Dallas and the Las Colinas Medical Center have all established campuses and several museums including the Irving Arts Center are located nearby.

The 125-acre man-made Lake Carolyn is located at the core of the urban center and is a true town lake. The Mandalay Canals, a unique system of Venetian style canals, flank one side of Lake Carolyn and meander through the nearby offices, shops, restaurants and residential areas.
