Cognizant Technology Solutions U.S. Corp., a New Jersey-based provider of information technology, consulting and business process services, plans to shift more than 1,000 jobs to an office building in Las Colinas.
And, tech-research firm, Gartner Inc., is looking to move up to 800 workers to an office building Goldman Sachs plans to vacate in a move to downtown Dallas. Gartner will occupy at least 100,000 square feet in the building.
And nationwide restaurant chain Pei Wei Asian Diner has put Las Colinas on its menu of locations for a headquarters move. Pei Wei is looking at an office lease in a building on State Highway 161.
Business tenants cite Las Colinas' proximity to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the development of thousands of new apartments and access to DART's commuter rail line as factors in their moves.
With construction winding down on the corporate campuses in Legacy West, Las Colinas will soon have the largest office construction project in the Dallas area.
Pioneer Natural Resources broke ground last month on its $100 million Las Colinas campus. The 10-story, 1.1 million-square-foot building wont be ready until 2019. It's just the first phase of a $1 billion mixed-use project that's planned for additional corporate office tenants plus apartments, retail and hotel rooms.
Next month's opening of the long-awaited Irving Music Factory entertainment district in the Las Colinas Urban Center will focus more attention on the area.
Construction is still underway on the Westin Convention Center hotel next door and the nearby Water Street retail center.
